Scythe Kaze Server
The “Scyth Kaze Server” fan controller in black is a nice product bought to control the fans within the new nice Antec case(review below) this controller has the facility to manage the speeds of 4 X 3-4 pin fans, and also includes temperature sensors for each fan along with a couple of spare ones(sensors). The device is easily mounted along with any optical drive assembly and includes four
Nobs-(including push button [when the knobs are pressed towards the case they operate a push button type function, selecting from Auto/Semi/Man fan control]) The box also contained the usual bag of screws and also extensions cables for fans. The only small gripe I have/had is a very small one the plugs for the fans sensors where around the edge of the circuit board, where they came close to the mettle attaching(mounting plates for securing in optical bay)and maid the plugging in of the plugs ever so slightly fiddly, but where actually very easy to fit the plugs this was so minor its hardly worth including.
It is possible on manual control of the desired fan to actually fully stop the fan completely, I have removed the jumper on the back which disconnected the audio function included within the fan controller so I don’t know if their was an audio beep or similar to denote the stationary fan. The unit also includes a small push button switch to switch the entire control off. On the back their was also a jumper to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit display notation on the front panel.
Again as with the case I would wholly recommend this purchase to anyone and well worth the money spent on it.
One of the things I forgot also contained within is a multi language layout sheet for the back and front layout items, you will need a magnifying glass to read some text on circuit board and layout sheet items. This so easily could have been included within the instruction sheet its self. "Number 5" Fan connectors 1-5 insted of just fan connectors ... ...
